
In this Wig Making short course students are taught the art of wig making by some of Australia's most talented wig makers. Wigs are in high demand for not only aiding actors with character transformations in theatre, film and television, but also for accident and burns victims, alopecia sufferers, chemotherapy patients, barristers and judges, and musicians such as Ke$ha, Lady Gaga and Beyonce.

Learn the history of wig making and postiche (facial hair)
Types of human hair available
Wig and postiche manufacture
Hair preparation and foundations
Wig and postiche fittings, styling and dressing
Film and television industry overview
Hair punching for prosthetics and special effects

Course Duration
This course runs for 1 day a week for 3 months.

Course Accreditation
The subject covered in this course is a recognised unit of the nationally recognised Hairdressing Training Package SIH11.
About Our Short Courses
The Academy's short courses run regularly on demand. Upon successful completion of an eligible government accredited short course, students are issued with a Statement of Attainment. A Statement of Attainment is a nationally recognised verification of government accredited units of competency. The completed units of competency can be credited to other certificate and diploma courses.
